Demoscene sine scroller with Pixel Bender

The other day my good old buddy Cunya and I had one of our regular reminiscing-sessions about the good old days we spent in the Amiga demoscene together.

Since I’m experimenting with Pixel Bender shaders quite a bit these days anyway, it didn’t take long for me to make the connection and realize that Pixel Bender was literally made to allow the easy recreation of one of the most ubiquitous demo effects, the sine scroller.

Well, enjoy the result (if you are familiar with demoscene-stuff, I’m sure you’re going to get a kick out of the copperlist simulation and the iconic intro-font as well… :) )

The cool retro chiptune track is by She.

Awesome! I thought about doing this in the “olden days” of Flash 8 using displacement map. Big up for bringing the spirit of those days!
